Black Sea Scuba Diving

Since forming, we have invested a great deal of time in locating suitable wrecks at recreational depths so that we may offer a range of Wreck Tours to suit most tastes.
Diving in Bulgaria
To date we have logged Merchant Vessels, Landing Craft, Torpedo Boats, other anomalous military/merchant boats as well as Submarines. In addition, in 2009, the ex communist leader’s Airliner was sunk to produce a man made reef for divers to enjoy. Combined with tours to appreciate the local marine life, flora and fauna, as well as features of natural interest such as caves and pinnacles, we have an excellent range of tours available which we know you will enjoy. . All that we ask is that you hold an appropriate level of certification and experience (especially in respect of the areas of navigation and deep diving) and are reasonably fit.
Scuba Diving in the black SeaDiving Schools in Bulgaria

There are wrecks all over the Region ranging in depth from 10 – 200 metres varying from merchant vessels and warships to submarines and ancient Galleys. In truth there is real treasure yet to be found as wrecks are still uncovered periodically revealing sealed Amphoras, coins and other artefacts such as pistols and even cannons!

There is even a local belief that a merchant ship carrying the German gold from the mainland during the evacuation in World War II was sunk and lost in Bulgarian territorial waters…we keep looking but no luck as yet…..

All of our wrecks are accessible only by boat and our boats meet required EU as well as UK maritime standards. Furthermore our instructors are also qualified Dive Boat “Skippers” with RYA and BSAC qualifications meeting EU requirements.

Black Sea Ship Wreck diving

The aim is to open the beauty and treasures of the Black Sea to Divers around the world offering an alternative to those areas more commonly visited.

Currently, despite what other centres may advise, many of the wrecks in the region are Registered War Graves, especially the submarines, and they are monitored closely by the Military Radar Stations, while others are at depths beyond recreational diving limits.

Bulgaria
The local Sea life offers an interesting range of species, including local fish, the Dog Shark, Jellyfish and even Sea Horses can be found as little as 50 – 80 m from the beach. Although it may come as a surprise the Black Sea plays host to The Black Bottlenose Dolphin and the Black Seal and in turn these are protected species. While the corrals and fauna have developed independently of other eco systems due to the isolated nature of this inland sea and the influence of a large inflow of fresh water from the European Rivers. (see information section).
